Dr. Michelle Lai graduated with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2023. Prior to this, she attended the Biomedical Science program at the University of Guelph and was a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship Award in 2017. She is passionate about helping all animals and has had opportunities to work with wildlife, zoo and exotic species in addition to dogs and cats.

Michelle grew up in Markham, Ontario. She enjoys spending time there with family, friends and her two cats, Peanut and Pluto. In her spare time, she is an avid artist and enjoys both traditional and digital painting.
